Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

The MakePodcast service (the "Service") is operated by Eitan Elnekave, a sole proprietor registered in Israel trading as "MakePodcast" ("we", "us"). For any privacy matter, contact us at team@makepodcast.app.

2. What we collect and when

When you join the early-access list and use the site, we collect:

The email address you enter in the signup form or when creating an account.
Account details and the content you upload and create in the Service.
Subscription and billing data (plan, status, transaction history). Payment is processed by Polar. We do not collect or store your card details.
A business-type / user-profile qualifier you select from a list.
The page "context": which part of the page the signup came from.
IP address and coarse geo (country/region) for language matching and security.
Usage and event data via cookies and analytics & advertising-pixel tools (for example, page views and the signup event).
A language preference stored in a cookie named locale.

3. Why we use it

To manage the early-access list and hold your place in line.
To send product and marketing email (including a welcome email).
To analyze usage and improve the product and the site.
To measure and optimize advertising campaigns.
To feature selected videos created with the Service in our public examples gallery and marketing, under the license described in our Terms of Service. Featured videos are never shown with your name or contact details, and you can ask us to stop featuring a video at any time.

4. Legal basis & consent

We process your data based on your consent, given when you submit your email and opt in to marketing content, and on our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Service. Where Israeli law applies, processing is subject to the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and Amendment 13. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Sections 6, 7 and 9).

Your photo (own-photo host): if you choose to upload a photo of yourself to create videos, we process it only with your explicit consent, given at upload. The photo is checked automatically (face detection, age estimate, content screening, and public-figure matching) using Amazon Rekognition, acting as a processor on our behalf. Your photo is not used to train models, is kept in private storage, and is deleted when you delete your account. You can remove the photo at any time from the host picker.

5. Third parties & processors

We rely on service providers acting as processors on our behalf:

Polar(Polar Software, Inc.): our payment processor and Merchant of Record; handles billing, receipts, and taxes. See Polar's own privacy policy.
Supabase: secure storage of signup and account data.
Resend: email delivery.
Meta (Facebook): advertising pixel for measurement (PageView and Lead events), possibly including advanced matching based on a hashed email.
PostHog: analytics; identifies users by email.
Amazon Web Services: automated checks of uploaded host photos (Amazon Rekognition).
Cloudflare: private media storage (R2), including uploaded host photos.

Some providers process and store data outside Israel (including in the United States and the EU). By using the Service you consent to this transfer.

6. Cookies & tracking

We use essential cookies (such as your language preference) and analytics & advertising cookies (PostHog, the Meta Pixel). You can withdraw consent to analytics/advertising tracking via the on the site, and through your browser's cookie-blocking settings.

7. Marketing email & unsubscribe

After signup we send a welcome email and product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying "STOP" (or "הסר") to any email, or by contacting team@makepodcast.app.

8. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as it is needed to manage the early-access list and provide the Service, and afterward until you request deletion or it is no longer needed, whichever is earlier, subject to legal requirements.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to request its correction, and to request its deletion. To exercise these rights, contact us at team@makepodcast.app and we will handle your request in accordance with the law.

If you choose to link an Instagram account or a YouTube channel to publish through the Service, the platform provides us an access token and basic profile details (username, account id, profile picture). We use them solely to publish the videos you ask us to publish, at the time you choose. Tokens are stored encrypted and are never exposed to your browser. Our use of YouTube data is subject to the Google Privacy Policy; you can revoke access at any time via Google security settings or via your Instagram app settings, in addition to disconnecting inside MakePodcast.

9b. Data deletion

You can disconnect a linked social account at any time in Settings (Settings → Connected accounts); disconnecting deletes the stored tokens. Deleting your MakePodcast account (Settings → Delete account) permanently deletes all of your data, including linked accounts, within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing team@makepodcast.app.
